Our Birthday Girl turns 5!

It amazes me how time is flying. It only seems like yesterday that Elizabeth was a little over a year old and just placed in our arms in China. She has grown so much, and I don't mean just physically, but in wisdom and sensitivity and relationships as a child of God. She is such a beautiful and loving little girl and so much fun to be around each and every day. This home has never had so much laughter and the joy we have with her is indescribable!

Before I start, I have to tell you that she asked me a few weeks ago if Clare would be here for her birthday. Oh, how I wish that could have been...for all of us. She wants so much for her to be here with us and lets God know this every night in prayers, but always ends with that she will wait patiently.


So, her birthday morning started out with a waffle...a plain toaster waffle with peanut butter on top for breakfast. I was sure she was going to request pancakes with chocolate chips (thanks to recent conversations with a few unnamed folks...you all know who you are!!). I would not have denied her this folly, but she chose her usual, and I smiled! Her party with her friends was at the local bowling alley...lots and lots of fun...and loved every moment with her friends! Netta and Alex joined us for dinner that evening...the perfect end to a perfect day.
